The Vice-Chancellor of the Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, Prof. Mathews Ojo, has said the institution has no problem with its host community following the sitting of a power project. Ojo said this in Iwo on Monday at the opening of a seminar on Alternative Dispute Resolution organised by the Faculty of Law of the university. Some youths in Iwo, who claimed that the university refused to assist the town when they sought the school’s assistance over the power project, had vowed not to allow the institution to benefit from the project. But the VC said the university was not at war with its host because its management had been in dialogue with community leaders toward ending the crisis. On Thursday, 17th April 2015, members of the Management team of Ekiti State University, EKSU led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oladipo Aina waited for the arrival of the Visitor to the University, His Excellency, Dr Ayodele Fayose. The Management team had earlier received the notice of an emergency visit of the Governor, which was his first since he became Governor in a popular electoral victory which marked his second coming as Ekiti State Governor. The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Prof. Olusola Oyewole, has urged graduates to channel their skills into national development. Oyewole made the appeal during the induction of the Computer Science graduates of the university to the Computer Professionals’ Registration Council of Nigeria. A medical library considered to be the best in the country has been constructed for the EKSU College of Medicine. The keys to the building were handed over to EKSU Vice- Chancellor, Professor Patrick Oladipo Aina, on Tuesday June 11, 2013 . The Vice-Chancellor who was visibly happy at the occasion said the feat of having a medical library described by several people as the best in any college of medicine in Nigeria, was achieved through the grace of God and the co-operation of members of staff. He told the gathering at the handing-over ceremony that the funding of the construction was from the Internally Generated Revenue ( I G R) of the university with the support of the State government.
